RATING: ★☆☆☆ – SATISFACTORY | PRICE: $$ - Average
If you ask a true blue Bejinger where they’d go when they venture out to for authentic local Peking duck. There’s a high chance someone will mention Bian Yi Fang. Being the oldest duck centric restaurant in the city with over 600 years of history, the restaurant maintains authentic down-to-earth vibes and truly uninflated prices.
The duck is prepared in-front of you and includes all condiments for the price unlike most other restaurants where condiments are charged separately. The skin could use a little more ‘crisp’ consistency but the flesh was extremely tender and at that comparatively low price, no one is complaining.
Bian Yi Fang may not come across as the most refined or posh of Peking duck restaurants, but what it lacks in swag it more than compensates with strong character.
