PRICE: $$$$ - Very Expensive | RATING: ★★★★ - Outstanding
If you have spent any time in Bali at all, then you must have heard of Metis; it is almost the de facto restaurant for refined French cuisine on the island and has been an institution for so long (it was renamed from the equally famous Warisan) that its popularity actually laid the foundation for the Petitenget region to be developed into what it is today.
The cuisine at Metis is honestly pretty simple, down-to-earth home-style French, presented in a grandiose setting with impeccable service and a phenomenal wine list. Culinary, the chefs have played it safe, sticking to traditional favorites and banging on their much-coveted foie gras. So, while you will not get any modern or molecular mumbo jumbo, you also won’t leave Metis on an empty stomach.
Metis continues to the standard for refined dining in Bali achieving a harmonious balance between chic French cuisine and world renown Balinese hospitality and sensibilities.
