If a bowl of beef, rice and sweetened soy sounds like your kind of thing then Red Rock is a must visit for you. Their specialty is in the name, the creation of a perfect red rock made up of hair thin slices of rare USDA beef on a mound of Japonica rice coated with special sweetened soy sauce and topped with a raw egg yolk.
Homegrown in Kobe, their ability to expand to multiple outlets in what is arguably the beef capital of Japan, is a testament to the idea that not all beef in the country needs to be wagyu and that there is room for good ole American beef of course prepared in unique Japanese flare thinly sliced charcuterie style.
