Finding ramen in Singapore is not difficult, the noodle dish is almost ubiquitous to the city with ramen restaurants overtaking the noodle scene since 2010. Sanpoutei ramen brings a boutique take on Niigata styled ramen to Singapore, where the noodles have a light springy texture and the soup stock is vegetable and anchovy-based; rending it lighter and less oily than ramens found in Tokyo.
With long lines every day, one would expect the ramen at Sanpoutei to be consistently phenomenal; however, through our visits, we have noticed that the broth used in their signature Shoyu ramen varies greatly from visit to visit. So, you’d be much better off trying their Tsukumen which features a robust dipping sauce for the delicious noodles.
